In practice, the ban blocks access to competitive queues until the restriction expires, so players must wait before entering ranked matches again. For example, if a player disconnects from a Competitive match and leaves the match unfinished, the account may receive a cooldown that stops them from queuing for Competitive until the penalty ends. The exact length depends on the offense and the account’s prior behavior.
