Spray Down:

Spray down is the act of holding the trigger to fire a continuous burst of bullets at an enemy until they are eliminated.

In Counter-Strike 2, the term usually refers to controlling an automatic weapon’s recoil while keeping shots on target during close- to mid-range fights. It matters because sustained fire can secure a kill faster than single taps when an opponent is already exposed, but it also risks losing accuracy if the spray is not managed. Players often spray down when an enemy appears in the open, when multiple opponents line up, or when a quick finish is needed after the first bullets connect. For example, a player with an AK-47 peeks a doorway, lands the opening shots, then keeps the spray going to finish a second opponent before they can retreat.
