Defending high ground is the act of protecting your base or another elevated area on the Dota 2 map from an enemy push. It usually refers to fighting from uphill positions near Tier 3 towers, barracks, or the Ancient, where the defending team can use vision, choke points, and tower protection to make an assault harder.
